This recipe is quick to prepare and very nourishing.
1/2 (500g) pkg spaghetti or fettuccine
2-3 cups vegetables, chopped
(ie. broccoli, red pepper, etc.)
4 pcs. centre-cut, fast-fry pork chops, preferably boneless
1 tbsp. (15 mL) cornstarch
1/2 cup (125 mL) teriyaki sauce
1 tbsp. (15 mL) dark sesame oil
1 1/2 tsp. (7 mL) hot chili-garlic sauce or 1 tsp. chili sauce
4 garlic cloves, minced, or 2 1/2 tsp. (12 mL) bottled
chopped garlic
1 tsp. vegetable oil
1/4 cup (50 mL) water
1) Fill a large pot full of water and bring to a boil. Add pasta and cook according to package directions.
2) Chop vegetables and set aside.
3) Mix 2 tbsp. of teriyaki with cornstarch until smooth. Stir in remaining 1/3 cup teriyaki, sesame oil, chili-garlic sauce, and garlic.
4) Slice pork in thin strips. Heat oil in frying pan and cook pork until no pink remains (3 to 4 minutes).
5) Mix teriyaki mixture with pork. Add vegetables and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
6) Once pasta is cooked, drain water and stir noodles into pork mixture. Toss to coat evenly.
Serves 4 persons.
