Car Seat Safety

Motor vehicle collisions are the leading cause of death for children. Each year 70 Canadian children under the age of 4 years die and another 4,000 are injured in motor vehicle collisions. Transport Canada estimates that 90% of deaths and 70% of injuries are preventable through the proper use and installation of a child restraint system such as a car seat or booster seat.

Choose the right seat for your child:

Infant Only Seat Birth to 9-10 kg (20-22 lbs) Rear-facing only

Convertible Car Seat
Birth to 16 kg (35 lbs) Rear-facing
Convertible Car Seat
 

 

At leat 10 kg (22 lbs) and the child is able to pull to a standing position on his/her own. Forward-facing
 

 

Combination Seat with Harness 9 kg (20 lbs) up to 
18 kg (40 lbs)
Forward-facing
Combination Seat with Lap/Shoulder Belt 18 kg (40 lbs) up to 36 kg (80 lbs) Forward-facing
Booster Seat 18 kg (40 lbs) up to 36 kg (80 lbs) Forward-facing
