Reportable Diseases

The following specified Reportable Diseases are to be reported to the local Medical Officer of Health following the specified timelines even if diagnosis is only suspect.

Immediate (Regardless of time of day)
Criteria for immediate reporting:

  • Possible link to bioterrorism
  • Disease with high morbidity and mortality
  • Unusual diseases for Peterborough County and City

 

Report Same Business Day or During A Weekend/ Holiday
(between 6:00 am and 11:00 pm)
Criteria for emergency reporting on weekends:  Public health measures may need to be taken quickly (ie. investigation of source, control of spread, immunizations, prophylaxis of contacts)
Criteria for reporting suspect cases (in absence of lab result):  High morbidity/ mortality AND time constraints on prophylaxis/immunization OR need to identify source quickly
