September 11, 2014 – Strike Avoided as Both Groups Ratify Agreement

The Peterborough Public Health would like to advise residents that last night the Board of Health approved a tentative agreement reached September 5 with OPSEU Local 327. Earlier today, this deal was also ratified by OPSEU members, thereby securing a new three-year contract ending March 31, 2016.

“We are very pleased that this agreement has been finalized so our employees can continue delivering the programs and services that make our community one of the best in Ontario,” said Brent Woodford, Director of Corporate Services for Public Health. “This agreement is a win-win, because it allows our high-quality programs and services to continue without disruption and was negotiated with taxpayer affordability in mind.”

The OPSEU members at Peterborough Public Health include nutritionists, health promoters, infant development workers and dental hygienists.
